CIGMAN CM-G16 4x360° Green Laser Level

The CM-G16 is a 4×360° green laser level built for indoor layout work where one setup should cover the whole room: drywall and stud framing, suspended ceiling grids, tile and flooring layout, cabinet and shelving runs, door and window openings, and partition walls. Its four 360° planes project 16 lines across the floor, all four walls, and the ceiling at the same time, and the lines cross at a true 90°, so you can square a room and transfer heights without moving the tool. Indoor working range is up to 100 ft, which covers most residential rooms and light-commercial spaces in a single position.

A 4×360° laser level projects four complete 360-degree laser planes at once — on the CM-G16, one horizontal plane and three vertical planes. Each 360° plane shows up as four visible line segments as it wraps around the room, which is where the 16-line figure comes from. In practice it means a level line all the way around the walls plus plumb references on every wall, the floor, and the ceiling from one position. That is the reason a 4×360° laser level replaces the constant repositioning that a basic cross-line level requires on a full-room layout.

Leveling accuracy is ±1/8 in. at 33 ft (roughly ±3 mm at 10 m), the standard tolerance band for interior finishing work such as tile, drywall, cabinetry, and trim. The self-leveling range is ±3°: place the tool on any surface tilted within 3 degrees and the internal pendulum brings the planes level automatically, and outside that range the unit indicates that it needs to be repositioned. Switching to manual (tilt) mode locks the pendulum so the planes stay fixed at whatever angle you set the tool to, which is how you mark stair stringers, sloped ceilings, ramps, and handrails.

No — the CM-G16 does not have an LCD screen, and this is a deliberate difference from screen-equipped models such as the CM-S04. Power and charging status are shown by the indicator light on the unit itself, while the settings you would otherwise read off a display — which of the four planes are on, brightness level, and pulse mode — are visible and adjustable on the included remote and in the CIGMAN mobile app. Leaving the display out is part of what keeps the G16 at a lower price point for the same 4×360° coverage. If you specifically want a battery-percentage and mode readout on the tool without reaching for a phone, choose a model with an on-board LCD instead.

The CM-G16 runs on a built-in 4000 mAh rechargeable lithium battery that charges over USB-C. There are no disposable batteries to buy and no proprietary charger to lose — any USB-C phone charger, laptop port, or power bank will refill it. The battery is not user-swappable: unlike two-battery models such as the CM-S02, you cannot drop in a spare pack mid-job, so on long days plan to charge overnight and top up from a USB-C power bank during breaks. Charge it fully before first use, and if the tool is going into storage, recharge it every few months to keep the cell healthy.

Indoors and in shade the green beam is visible unaided up to 100 ft. In direct sunlight — as with every green line laser — the beam becomes hard to see with the naked eye, which is what pulse mode is for: switch it on, pair the tool with a compatible laser receiver (sold separately) and usable range extends to 164 ft, enough for exterior walls, decks, fences, and larger job sites. The IP54 rating covers construction dust and water splashes, so normal site conditions are fine, though the tool is not built to sit out in rain. For foundation layout or land grading across long distances, a rotary laser level is the correct tool rather than any line laser.

For most work, yes. The human eye is most sensitive to the green part of the spectrum, so a green beam reads as roughly 4× brighter than a red beam of the same output power — easier to pick out on dark surfaces, at distance, and in daylit rooms. The trade-off is that green laser diodes draw more current, which is why the CM-G16 carries a 4000 mAh battery and gives you 4 brightness levels: drop the brightness in a dim room to stretch runtime, and raise it when you are working near windows. The CM-G16 is a Class II laser (<1 mW); avoid staring into the beam and do not aim it at anyone's eyes.

The included remote control and the free CIGMAN app for iOS and Android drive the same functions: turn each of the four 360° planes on or off individually, step through 4 brightness levels, and switch on pulse (flash) mode when you are working with a receiver. Shutting off the planes you are not using keeps the workspace readable and saves battery. The real benefit is on tripod or ceiling work — once the tool is set at height or across the room, you change modes from where you are standing instead of climbing back to it, which is what makes solo ceiling grid and partition layout practical.

The standard CM-G16 ships with the laser level, a remote control, a magnetic L-shaped bracket, a USB-C charging cable, a 5/8"-11 thread adapter, a user manual, and a hard carrying case. A tripod is not included in that version — order the CM-G16T instead and a 56 in. (1.42 m) adjustable tripod comes in the box. The 5/8"-11 adapter lets the tool mount on standard construction tripods and laser poles, and without the adapter the base takes a common 1/4"-20 tripod thread. The kit is intentionally lean: if you want extras such as a magnetic target plate, a wall mount, and a second battery included, the CM-S02 ships with a fuller accessory set.

Both are 4×360° green laser levels with app and remote control, and both sit in the same ±3 mm at 10 m accuracy class, so line coverage is not the deciding factor — power and accessories are.

Choose the CM-G16 if you want the lower-cost route into full 4×360° coverage, work in sessions where an overnight USB-C charge is enough, and want the hard case and 5/8"-11 mounting for site use. Choose the CM-S02 if you run long days and need swappable power — it uses two removable 2600 mAh batteries, so runtime is effectively uninterrupted — or if you want the fuller kit with magnetic target plate, wall panel, and lifting base included. Look at the CM-S04 if you also want an LCD display reporting battery and mode on the tool itself.

Not the right tool either way: precision surveying or engineering work needing tighter than ±3 mm at 10 m, and long-range outdoor grading, where a rotary laser is the appropriate choice.
